Cavalli Art Gallery
Cavalli presents contemporary art exhibitions in its intimate gallery space below ground level. Stunning in its unique usage of lighting, simulating a skylit ceiling, the space is one of the Cape Winelands' best-kept secrets. Currently, the featured artist is Jordan Sweke, a multi-media artist from Johannesburg. His work explores the connection between humans and the natural world.

Delaire Graff Estate
Situated on the Helshoogte Pass in the Stellenbosch Winelands, Delaire Graff serves as a remarkable art gallery. The picturesque estate has than 400 works from owner Laurence Graff OBE's private collection on display. An extraordinary testament to Laurence Graff's passion for African art, works by Nelson Makamo, Robert Hodgins, Sydney Kumalo, and William Kentridge, among many others, draw your gaze. Whether gracing the walls, ceilings or gardens, these pieces are the finishing touches to a rarefied destination without parallel.

The Gallery at Grande Provence
The Gallery at Grande Provence is one of the Cape Winelands' premier contemporary art spaces, renowned for its striking design and expertly curated collection. It showcases works by leading local artists across various mediums and it is especially celebrated for its outstanding sculpture exhibitions. The sculptures are on display inside the gallery and outside in the garden. The main gallery has an adjoining annex with a curated selection of smaller artworks, decorative objects, and African artifacts.

Marvol Gallery Art Walk at Hazendal
At the historic Hazendal, inspiring cultural conversations through meaningful art is part of their mission. Visitors can discover their art and heritage with the Marvol Gallery Art Walk, which begins with a dive into the rich history of the wine estate. Then, it highlights the artworks, many of which are scattered across the estate. There are paintings by South African masters like Pierneef, Vladimir Tretchikoff, and George Pemba; artworks by Soviet realists; landscape sculptures; and original Cape Dutch furniture. The Marvol Gallery itself features regularly changing exhibitions by contemporary artists.

La Motte Ateljee
Continuing the family’s passion for art, the La Motte Ateljee is an exciting creative space for guests to engage with artworks, artists, and makers. The new gallery at La Motte brings a series of regularly changing, themed art exhibitions of painting, design, ceramic and textile art. Through a connecting door there’s an interactive space, where you can paint your own artwork to add to the collective art-wall exhibition (or take it straight home) as you sip a glass of wine. Or, join a half-day workshop to learn botanical watercolour painting or leatherwork, among other special events.

Saronsberg Cellar
At Saronsberg in the Tulbagh Valley, art is woven into the character of the winery. Their privately-curated collection features the creativity of artists such as Ruhan Janse van Vuuren, Angus Taylor, Norman Catherine, and Paul du Toit, whose works transform hidden corners into moments of thought, emotion, and joy. Although many pieces are on display in their gallery in the tasting room, you'll also find sculptures welcoming you at the gate, alongside you under the oaks, or perched quietly above the staircase. A visit to Saronsberg is about more than art and wine – it's a chance for your mind and your senses to rest and revel in beauty.

Grounded Practice Ceramic Exhibition at Spier
Discover the power and beauty of clay at Grounded Practice, a new ceramics exhibition at Spier. Curated by Tamlin Blake, the exhibition features 63 works by 42 South African artists, exploring themes of balance, belonging, and our connection to the earth. More than just beautiful objects, the pieces speak to personal, political, and environmental instability – and how creativity helps us find our footing again. Expect a diverse range of ceramics, all housed in the historic Old Wine Cellar. Highlights include works by artists Sinethemba Xola, Anita Sikutshwa, and Sylvester Zanoxolo Mqeku.

The Sculpture Garden at Tokara
The ground-breaking sculpture garden at Tokara showcases a carefully curated collection of sculptures and art pieces dappled throughout the estate. It features works by Egon Tania, Guy du Toit, Wilma Cruise, Strijdom van der Merwe, Angus Taylor and Conrad Hicks, among others. The impressive indoor art collection celebrates all that is Africa: you'll find covetable objects d'art created by local artists and artisans, including three rare William Kentridge tapestries.
