Wine connoisseurs and guests looking for a unique wine experience will relish the opportunity to delve deeper into the wines of Hazendal with a tutored tasting conducted in our underground Wine Library.
The experience begins with a Citrus Vodka cocktail in the Wine Lounge, before our wine ambassadors lead guests on a tour through our state-of-the-art wine cellar.
Then, step into an elegant subterranean space that is home to a display of historic Hazendal bottles from decades past. But the focus is on the present, with the tasting showcasing vintage and current award-winning releases created by Hazendal’s winemaker.
Along the way, guests will learn more about the unique terroir of the Bottelary Hills and the rich winemaking heritage of the estate.
Each wine is paired with a flavour-packed micro-plate, reflective of executive chef Michélle Theron’s inventive cooking style and showcasing her contemporary flair that is evident across the estate’s culinary offerings.
The paired tasting portions are served in a striking ceramic and glass tower crafted by local ceramicist Hennie Meyer. When one serving is opened and enjoyed, the next bite is revealed as guests move through the pairing.
Experience a bespoke food and wine pairing, with an interactive chef demonstration, world-class wines and topped with a delightful tea service and a delectable, sweet treat to take home.

Bookings
The Wine Library experience lasts for approximately two hours. A maximum of 12 guests can be accommodated at a time, and prior reservation is essential.
The complete experience, including welcome drink, guided tour, wine tasting and pairing portions, costs R950 per person.
The experience is available from Monday to Sunday at 12h30.
