Weltevrede River's Edge Unwooded Chardonnay 2004 has just been selected for First and Business class on South African Airways from early 2005.
A hundred and fifty South African Chardonnays were tasted and Weltevrede had the honour of being selected to represent South Africa in the air. Winemaker Philip Jonker, a Chardonnay champion, is on cloud nine. Numerous times his Chardonnays have proved themselves in competitions, reinforcing that this ancient and noble variety is his specialty. More good news is that Weltevrede Tricolore Sauvignon Blanc/ Semillon/ Colombard was selected by WINE Magazine's Value for Money Award. The Tricolore white is a soft, juicy, mouth watering wine for lunchtime and a feet-up homecoming drink. The label is a good read as well..
