The first Goedverwacht Sparkling wine, Suiderkruis Vonkel received great success in Holland. A very well-known wine magazine in Holland, 'Perswijn' awarded this wine with four stars.
The Suiderkruis Vonkel was the only South African sparkling wine to be awarded four stars and is a blend of 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Colombar.
The 'Perswijn' judges commented as follows:
'Pleasant grass, aroma of fresh picked grapes, powerful sauvignon blanc makes it very special, gooseberry flavours, baie lekker.'
This success makes us very excited, because The Netherlands is our biggest export market. We have decided to launch the Goedverwacht Suiderkruis Vonkel on the local market in 2005.
