Australian quarterly wine sales rise 12% on U.K., German demand

Nov. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Wine exports from Australia, the biggest exporter of the beverage outside Europe, rose 12 percent last quarter to a record on surging U.K. and German sales.

Foster's Group Ltd., Southcorp Ltd., McGuigan Simeon Wines Ltd. and other exporters sold A$725 million ($559 million) of wine abroad in the three months ended Sept. 30, figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics in Adelaide show.
