Brothers Bruwer and Jasper Raats of Raats Family Wines continue to establish themselves as a top winery and was recently named as one of the 20 Best New Wineries in the October issue of the American Food & Wine magazine. Renowned New York wine expert and writer Richard Nalley put Raats Family Wines at the top of his Global A-List of exciting wineries that have opened up around the globe.

For the article, Nalley made a selection of 20 of the planet's most notable new producers with labels dated in 1999 or later. According to Nalley, countries in the Old and New World from Germany to Argentina and New Zealand have debuted innovative new wineries that would be impossible to ignore. In the article, Nalley describes the Raats 2003 Chenin Blanc as a "dry-style Chenin that seems delicate though bursting with pineapple and melon wrapped in creamy vanilla flavours."

Nalley continued to sing the praises of the Raats combination by saying "With a name like Raats, it better be wonderful." Raats Family Wines was one of only two South African cellars to make Nalley's Top 20 list,

According to winemaker Bruwer Raats, this listing is absolutely amazing. "We feel extremely honoured to be heading a global listing, which include wineries from across the world. As always, I'm delighted when Chenin Blanc receives the recognition as a variety that I feel it so richly deserves."
