Bon Cap Organic Wines
Together Roelf du Preez and Jacques Conradie are aiming at increasing the already high standards of quality of the wines at Bon Cap; through increased vineyard management and more in-depth planning of the soil, vineyard, cultivars, winemaking and market relatives.

After two years of extra ordinary wine quality proven through awards like two gold's on the Concours de Mondial in Brussels and two gold's consecutively at the Michelangelo International Wine Awards - the Bon Cap team has made a decision to appoint a full time winemaker. For the first three, vintages owner - winemaker Roelf du Preez was in charge of the winery and the farm, a decision from his side to spend more time in his vineyards and less time in the winery came as no surprise. He is known among his buyers as "The wine maker, but by heart the farmer".

It is of utmost importance that the people who join our team understand the concept of..."You never work for us, you work with us as a team,"says Roelf.

It is therefore with great pleasure that we could add a young and dynamic winemaker to our stable. Jacques Conradie is no new name to the wine scene; a former farm boy from Montaqu, trained at Elsenburg Agricultural College and then started his wine making career at Mooiuitsig Wine Cellar and Overberg Coop as winemaker. After this Jacques was appointed as winemaker at Graham Beck, Robertson, for three years.

Jacques has broadened his horizons with numerous vintage harvests abroad; including a harvest season at Cave de Dom Brial in Baxais in the Rousillon region as well as a harvest at Clos Petit Bellane in Southern Rhone in the Valreas region in France.

Together Roelf du Preez and Jacques Conradie are aiming at increasing the already high standards of quality of the wines at Bon Cap; through increased vineyard management and more in-depth planning of the soil, vineyard, cultivars, winemaking and market relatives.

It is like a dream come true for the winery that has launched it's first wines in 2002. " We knew the quality of our grapes was excellent  - Roelf just needed more time in the vineyard with vineyard manager Henning Retief, and still be able to spend time in the winery blending and tasting. Good winemaking and -viticulture is like having a very expensive violin, but it need some tuning - only then you would be able appreciate the true value and beauty there of," says marketer Michelle.

So this is where we stand at Bon Cap; we have the quality grapes, the passion, and the team... so keep a look out for us in the future for exciting new products, or come and visit us at the winery, at Eilandia, on the R62 between Worcester and Robertson.

The winery is open from Monday to Friday from 08h00 - 17h00
and Saturday to Sunday from 10h00 - 16h00.
