Treat yourself to a delightful evening of irresistible food skilfully matched to superb red wines from Audacia Wines and modern art at the Grapes, Gourmet and Gallery Evening at Winchester Mansions on Wednesday, 18 August.

This delectable evening is hosted at the hotel's elegant yet cosy restaurant 'Harveys at the Mansions' in collaboration with The Association for Visual Arts (AVA) and Audacia Wines. Savour the marvelous 5-course menu created by Executive Chef, Johathan Staley, together with Audacia's winemaker, Elsa Carstens, while feasting your eyes on the art specially selected by AVA for the evening.

Take pleasure in mouth-watering food and wine combinations such as parsnip and sweet potato soup served with the Audacia Cabernet 2001 and a main course of springbok with Chermoula, caramelised parsnips and rosti potatoes perfectly paired with Audacia Merlot 2001. Round this divine evening off with vanilla and nutmeg rice pudding served with the spicy Audacia Shiraz 2002.

Known for its red wines this Stellenbosch wine estate's rich history dates back to 1930 when Koos Louw bought the farm, leaving behind his inheritance of Neethlingshof, after marrying an English lady - against his father's wishes. Koos' wife and friends exclaimed this decision to be a little short of "audacity", from which Koos derived the name Audacia.

AVA - the oldest non-profit gallery in Cape Town - is a dynamic, upmarket contemporary art gallery showcasing South African fine art in all media, from painting and sculpture to photography and installation. This association strives towards the advancement of visual art and artists, regionally, nationally and internationally.

This evening starts at 19h00 and costs R185 per person, inclusive of a glass of wine per course. To book your table contact +27 (0) 21 434-2351 or send an email to
