On 1 June 2004 www.winenews.co.za brought you news about an exciting new project for children with Foetal Alcohol Syndrome in the winelands called 'pebbles'.

The aim is to provide a centre for these children and their families where they can receive specialist educational support, adult education and skills training and health advice.

Mentioned in the article was the desperate need for a suitable building in the Stellenbosch area that can be used to create this invaluable resource. The project is looking for a 3 or 4 roomed building with toilet facilities ideally, but any building or even plot of land will be considered.

There are children with special needs already identified in the wine growing region, who are waiting to come and make maximum use of the facilities at the centre – what they need now is a building.

If you have a building or can help in any way, or know someone who might be able to help, please find more details of the project on
www.pebblesproject.co.za or email
