May heralds wine and dine at one.waterfront
This month's wine and dine at one.waterfront will see the collaboration of four winemakers and a top culinary team, headed up by Executive Chef Bruce Robertson, in an event that puts Sémillon on the Soap Box.

Taking place on Tuesday, 25 May - Nitida, Cape Point Vineyards, Constantia Uitsig and Steenberg have all contributed the best of their Sémillons to an outstanding 6-course menu.

Consisting of canapés and four taster courses, the event will begin with a pre-dinner 'Graham Beck Brut NV' served with a beef nigiri with 'sushi' barley and horseradish.

The first taster course will consist of a Cambodian oyster mushroom panna cotta topped with a petit pea salad. Accompanying this dish will be the Cape Point Sémillon 2002.

The second taster course will consist of an apple and roasted yellowtail strudel on a nutmeg creamed potato with a cream soda sauce. This has been carefully matched to the Nitida Sémillon 2002.

The third course is a veal and pine nut schnitzel served with a grand marnier and warm naartjie compote. Enhancing these flavours will be the Constantia Uitsig Sémillon 2002.

And lastly, on the main courses, a confit of 'creole' duck served on sweet potato and a goats cheese spring roll. The Steenberg Sémillon 2003 is the perfect match.

Dessert is definitely a highlight on the menu and will appear in the extravagant form of a crispy Camembert pie layered with figs and topped with a poached pear. This will be served with the Cape Point Noble Late Harvest 2000.

Kicking off at 19h00 for 19h30 in the Cape Grace library, the evening will showcase some of best Sémillon wines the Western Cape wine region has to offer. At a cost of R260 per person, the evening holds the promise of endless possibility.
