Darling Cellars is immensely proud to announce that the DC De-Alcoholised Rosé was awarded a gold medal (96 points) at the IWSC and was also awarded with the Trophy for the best wine on the show in the Low Alcohol category!
The International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC) is a wine competition created to reward excellence in wine and spirit production and has been awarding medals to the world’s best wines and spirits for over 50 years.
The IWSC’s Low & No Awards is its biggest recent success story with entries growing for the third year. 2022 entries for the 1.2% and lower category were up over 225% versus the previous year demonstrating the continuing surge in popularity and relevance for these drinks.
28 gold medals were awarded to entrants for this category, as well as 104 silver medal winners and 138 bronze medal winners. Two medals – the Zero Alcohol Trophy and the Low Alcohol Trophy (under 1.2%) were also created this year to reward the two best-performing drinks in this year’s judging.
David T Smith, member of the IWSC’s Judging Committee comments: “There has been real progress made in the low alcohol space over the past couple of years. It is very clear that producers are putting some serious time, effort, and innovation into increasing quality.
In the category for Low & No Awards the following wines from Darling Cellars were awarded a silver medal:
- DC De-Alcoholised Shiraz (94 points)
- DC De- Alcoholised Sauvignon Blanc (90 points)
- DC De-Alcoholised Sparkling Rosé (90 points)
Having 3 of our wines awarded with a silver medal and one going on to receive Trophy status, is a great honour and testimony to our team’s dedication to excellence in all that they do. We are immensely proud of the team and this achievement.
