Support is rolling in for talented winemaker and owner of Lismore Estate Vineyards, Samantha O'Keefe, after the blaze that started in the Greyton nature reserve last week, destroyed her home and cellar.

Californian O'Keefe, seen as a pioneer in the South African wine industry, played a crucial role in putting the cool-climate wines of the Greyton area on the map. After buying Lismore Estate in 2003, O'Keefe spent years building up the brand to the point where her wines gained international acclaim.

According to ewn.co.za , the Overberg fire started last week in the Greyton nature reserve. Firefighters are still battling to contain the fire, believed to be started by two children.

Many messages of support from the wine industry, friends and family have been sent to Samantha O'Keefe, her family and staff in this difficult time.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Samantha in the aftermath of the fire for donations.
