Their resident braai expert prepares your chops, boerewors and chicken kebabs to perfection, as you sit back, relax and sample the superb Middelvlei wines on offer. The enticing aromas of the homemade potbrood and braaibroodjies give you a sneak peek of what lies ahead for your foodie experience, whilst Ben Momberg’s homemade pâté and Ouma Annie’s pumpkin fritters have placed the Middelvlei Boerebraai experience in a league of their own.
Make the most of the perfect Cape weather and sit outside on the sprawling verandah whilst admiring the views. On colder days the cozy fireplace inside will add extra warmth. The range of wines perfectly complement what can only be described as hearty South African comfort food. The selection of wines includes a Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz, Merlot and a Pinotage.
At a cost of R225 per person your Boerebraai experience includes a starter and main course and is available seven days a week between 12pm and 3pm. A low carb and vegetarian option are also available. For a nominal additional charge why not include another South African classic for dessert – a Malva pudding and ice cream, which is guaranteed to end off a perfect outing.
As Middelvlei is first and foremost a family owned establishment, the team strive to cater for all ages, and as such welcome visitors of all ages. Whilst Mom and Dad are enjoying a glass of wine, the young ones can play in the sandpit, feed the farm animals, enjoy the open space on the kick bikes, or braai their own marshmallows. A special kiddie’s meal at R60 per child is available to ensure their tummies are kept full (and happy).
