Bettane+Desseauve experts are a worldwide reference in the wine worlds and have created a unique competition, placing consumers at the heart of a blind tasting of affordable wines. Two criteria: taste and price.
Bettane+Desseauve with gather 100 wine amateurs in Hong Kong who will blind taste more than 500 wines from France and the world around. Blind Tasting on 10 and 11 June and the presentation of medal winning wines on 12 June.
The competition is open to all wine operators (domaines, chateaux, independants growers and winemakers, negociants, cooperatives, importers, distributors). The application form should be filled online HERE.
Each jury member evaluates and rate the wines with only three info available: region, price range and grape variety. The Bettane+Desseauve experts participate at the end of the selection, their role being to ensure that no wine is sidelined for the wrong reasons, or on the contrary, over evaluated.
The caution of non professional amateurs supported by experts enable to guarantee a 100% independent judgement that is linked to neither brand nor distribution chain.
New in 2019
- The organic 4 medals : GOLD, SILVER, BRONZE and ORGANIC For each of these categories, the wine samples are anonymous and presented per price range.
- The rating, the tasting comment will be made available on the Le Grand Tasting HK app, where they can be purchased if available in Hong Kong.

- Costs must be paid at the time of application, 150 € net for each wine registered in the competition, VAT exempted for NON EU countries (180 € VAT incl for EU countries).
