The 2019 Harvest Started at Kleine Zalze

Kleine Zalze Wines
Time flies when you are having fun they say!

The 2019 harvest started in the second week of January for Kleine Zalze Wines with “little” loads of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir delivered to the cellar for our Méthode Cap Classique production.

Even though harvest is like a Rugby World Cup to the winemakers, the preparation of the vineyards for the year leading up to harvest is critical. The better winter rain fall of 2018 replenished most of the groundwater and the water status is looking good for the 2019 harvest.

Most cultivars flowered in good soil moisture conditions, which is a positive. Currently the good, long, moderate temperatures are leading to the optimal ripening on the vine. The harvest prospect looks good for at least a relatively normal season.

Vineyard Selection Sauvignon Blanc 2017

We received a number of Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc grapes in the last week, so why not celebrate the start of the harvest with us by tasting our delicious Vineyard Selection Sauvignon Blanc 2017. This elegantly crafted wine received a 4½ star in the 2019 Platter Guide, a gold medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles and an FNB Sauvignon Blanc Top 10 in 2018.

At R101 VAT inclusive a bottle, this Sauvignon Blanc will quench any thirst this summer!
