Ken Forrester Vineyards
We wrapped a very well travelled 2017 with a visit to Tanzania and Zanzibar. Superb wine dinners at the Hyatt and Hilton Doubletree in Dar es Salaam and events on Zanzibar, as well as a magical sunset wine tasting at Livingstone Beachfront, Stone Town. On a mystical sandbank only there because of the full moon tide!

Back home in Stellenbosch, we hosted and spent the day with the AdVini Asia team.

In the vineyard

Despite drought conditions for the third consecutive year, the vineyards are in good condition. There still is moisture in the soil, but we have precious little water and still another 40 days at least to harvest! On hot and especially windy summer days the vineyard protects itself, shutting the leaves by folding closed and in half along the petiole sinus and turning their backs to the sun to stop photosynthesis.

At home

In our never-ending quest to engage all senses, a glass of Sparklehorse vintage MCC (100% Chenin Blanc) is beautifully served with delectable, artisan chocolates.
Is there any better way to spend time in the tranquil setting, under the oak trees? Ah decadence ...
Whilst you are visiting our vineyard, please do have a look at the hand-crafted, small batch bath soaps with alluring wine fragrances.

Just in time for the holidays our annual single barrel of Mourvèdre. The Barrel is bottled by hand, direct from the barrel with no filtration and just 166 magnums and 15 Jeroboams. Snap yours up now at the cellar door. Remember "a magnum is the perfect bottle of wine for dinner for two - if only one of you is drinking!!"
