Durbanville Hills
A multiplicity of influences, cultures, and natural surroundings, Cape Town is renowned for its diverse tourism offering.

On the one hand, the pulsing city centre is forever booming with commercial activity, offering visitors world-class fine dining experiences and a bustling night life; while on the other, the city is home to some of the world’s most breath-taking natural wonders and serene settings, from mountains to beaches and, of course, wine farms.

As a proudly Cape Town winery – situated a mere 20 minutes away from the city centre – Durbanville Hills has conceptualised a unique way to merge these two facets of the Mother City, by inviting the whole of Cape Town to enjoy, engage and experience viticulture while relishing in city culture.

Kate Jackson, Destination Manager for Durbanville Hills says that during 2017, the vineyard has received multiple accolades for the quality, value and elegance of their wines. “It is for this reason that the brand has decided on this unique approach of allowing all visitors across the Western Cape to get a taste of what Durbanville Hills is all about.”

As such, for the next few months, Jackson says that Durbanville Hills will be running innovative activations across the city to ensure that every tourist leaves with a memory of what the vineyard has to offer for the city. “Visitors, whether arriving or departing, will be unable to miss the city’s new 16-meter-wide landmark situated outside the Cape Town International Airport - the focal point of which is a giant three-dimensional bottle of Durbanville Hills Sauvignon Blanc that stands at a staggering height of 12 meters.

“As a vineyard based in the Northern wine valley, we are always eager to showcase what our astonishing destination has to offer, whether this be by giving people the opportunity to witness Cape Town’s biggest wine bottle billboard next to the airport or by dinning at the V&A Waterfront with a unique wine tasting experience.”

Jackson concludes that if these visual activations across the city aren’t enough, visitors can experience the real deal of being surrounded by spectacular panoramic views of the mountain and ocean by visiting the vineyard. “We encourage families and friends to join us and come and experience the excellent quality and innovation of Durbanville Hills – a proudly Cape Town winery which produces some of the world’s most exceptional wines.
