Klawer Wine Cellars' Villa Esposto wine range performed extremely well in the Tim Atkin SA Special Report 2017.

Tim Atkin MW judges several international wine competitions. He’s the co-chairman of the International Wine Challenge and also the chairman of the New Wave Spain Awards.

He speaks and teaches at wine conferences, wine associations and corporate and charity events. Earlier this year Tim Atkin, British Master of Wine and award-winning wine journalist, paid a visit to the West Coast Wine Route to taste and score the various wines.

We are very proud of Klawer Wine Cellars's Villa Esposto’s results! The Villa range fermentation is a combination of new, second and third fill French oak barrels, which contribute to the creamy texture and lingering finish

Our 2016 Chenin Blanc scored 94. This wine shows opulent aromas of citrus and tropical notes which are underlined with subtle hints of toast.

Our 2016 Straw Wine scored 93. This is our “sunshine in a bottle” Grapes from dry farmed bush vines, planted in 1969, are carefully selected before laying them on straw mats for drying. After two weeks this concentrated Muscat d’Alexandrie nectar is gently pressed and fermented at a slow pace.

The 2015 Pinotage scored 90 points. You get the intense and concentrated aromas of ripe cherries and Christmas cake, along with sweet and smokey undertones on the palate.

We are very pleased that our Flagship range did so good.
