Usana
Warmer weather, long lazy days and the perfect excuse to venture to the Usana Farm Feast over the weekend of 7 and 8 October. Situated on the Klein Welmoed, along Baden Powell Drive just outside Stellenbosch, visitors of all ages can look forward to a fun filled authentic farm experience.

Escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a day of farm fun. Relax and unwind on the sprawling lawn whilst sipping on a glass of chilled wine. Slippery Spoon Kitchen will keep your hunger at bay with their delicious food offerings. Johnny Hamman and Marius Uys, of Kokkedoor fame, are the culinary geniuses behind this innovative way of serving up the farm-to-table masterpieces. The emphasis on the food depicts the story of Usana perfectly, as it showcases the farm’s grass-fed beef and pasture-reared eggs, which are a perfect complement to their superb range of wines.

Complete this perfect setting with live music as the young ones are kept fascinated by the farm animals and their antics. What better way to experience life on a farm for the day. Don’t be alarmed by the odd chicken or cow who may wander closer to you for a quick sniff or peck. The sprawling lawn and ample kids’ entertainment will keep the young ones occupied the whole day.

Lize Mynhardt, who was placed second runner-up in the 2014 Idols competition, will be keeping guests entertained throughout the day on Saturday. The super talented Deon Volschenk will be performing on Sunday.

Tickets cost R390 per person, and kids between the ages of seven and 13 each pay R80. Prebook via www.webtickets.co.za to avoid disappointment as limited tickets are available.

Included in the price is a sumptuous farm table lunch, wine tasting, live music, kids’ entertainment and a R50 wine voucher (to be redeemed on the purchase of a case of wine).
