Klein Constantia
The 2013 Klein Constantia Sauvignon Blanc has just been released...

The 2013 Klein Constantia Sauvignon Blanc is a 100% Sauvignon blanc blend, for the first time omitting a Semillon component to give this excellent vintage the opportunity to fully express its elegant tropical flavours underpinned by distinct Constantia minerality.

Weathered granite soils and the cooler climate of the Constantia valley cannot alone account for creating excellent wines. The viticulture and winemaking philosophies have been fine-tuned to create a refined Sauvignon blanc with good structure and integrated freshenss. Since the change of ownership of the Estate in May 2011, there has been a fresh approach to winemaking on the estate. The aim is to create elegant wines with distinct terroir expressions depicting the authentic style of its origin.

Many projects are underway to improve quality in both the vineyard and the cellar from extensive soil erosion plans to careful tank selection in the cellar where the best batches are blended together to create this elegant Sauvignon Cuvée.

The recent five star Platter rating for our single vineyard “Perdeblokke” Sauvignon Blanc 2012, for which the grapes are sourced from a unique high altitude section of vineyards on the Constantia berg, underlines our philosophy to continue to identify the most distinct parcels on the farm and produce the best Sauvignon blanc Constantia has to offer.
