1%Club holds Pub Quiz in support of Anna Foundation

The 3rd 1%Club Pub Quiz Fundraiser was held recently held at the historical Fireman’s Arms Pub in Cape Town with the aim of raising funds for local NGO, the Anna Foundation who implements education, sports and life skills programmes for children living on farms in the Western Cape.
Among the 120 attending guests were 1%Club members, friends of the Anna Foundation and invited guests, many of whom who had returned for a second or even third year to defend their title. The quiz was run by “Quiz Nite Cape Town” with categories covering everything from film to science. Prizes were awarded throughout the evening, including a number of lucky draw, spot prizes, awards for the best dressed team and of course, the top three winning quiz teams. Due to the Anna Foundation’s work on (wine) farms, many wineries supported the evening by donating not only wine, but other outstanding prizes. There were also game drives (Villiera) up for grabs, restaurant vouchers (Dornier, Simonsig, Neethlingshof) and picnics (Solms-Delta), to mention a few.
A total of R13 220 was raised for the 1%Club beneficiary: the Anna Foundation.
Every few months a social event is planned for all 1%Club members. These events provide an opportunity for working professionals to meet new people and network. To become a part of the 1%Club, members commit to contributing 1% of their salary each month – these contributions are pooled together and go towards assisting the Anna Foundation children.
