Château Mouton-Rothschild. The results were published in BLICK, a newspaper

In his review
Master Sommelier Alain Kunz singles out the Constantia Glen flagship for its
elegance and cool climate freshness in comparison to wines from better known
Cape appellations. He describes the wine as well-rounded and immensely powerful
with a “super long” finish.
Constantia
Glen FIVE 2008 is an elegant blend of the five Bordeaux varieties: Cabernet
Franc (36%), Cabernet Sauvignon (22%), Petit Verdot (15%), Malbec (14%) and
Merlot (13%), aged in 100 % new French oak barrels for 16½ months. The
wine has a broad spectrum of aromas centred round a core of rich black berries,
shaped by the unique location of the vineyards just below Constantia Nek, where
slow ripening grapes lend a wonderful expression of dark berry flavours with
finely structured tannins.
“An exercise
in balance,” is how winemaker Justin van Wyk describes this elegant and refined
wine with superlative ageing potential over the next 10 to 15 years.
