Fleur du Cap, exotic salts & vygies meet for dinner at Taj Hotel

Join salt aficionado, chef Craig Cormack, for a lavish Fleur du Cap wine and exotic salt dinner at Mint Restaurant on Thursday, 28 November 2013, the culmination of a month of tastings of these elegant Unfiltered wines paired with vygies (succulents) at the luxury Taj Cape Town.
Joining hands with the Mint kitchen brigade, guest chef Craig Cormack has designed a Fleur du Cap Wine & Salt dinner to complement the Fleur du Cap tastings paired with vygies in the Pendock Wine Gallery at Taj Cape Town during November.

Capturing the vibrance of the city, guests will be welcomed with Fleur du Cap Unfiltered Chardonnay and savoury delights in St Georges Mall. The dinner will start off with fresh salmon trout served on Himalayan salt blocks and matched with Fleur du Cap Unfiltered Sauvignon Blanc. A refreshing margarita sorbet with oryx salt will prepare the palate for a flavoursome braised brisket of beef served with the consummately elegant Fleur du Cap Unfiltered Cabernet Sauvignon. The evening will end on a high note with a trio of salty sweet treats complemented by the Platter’s 5-star Fleur du Cap Noble Late Harvest.

Fleur du Cap wines have a close affinity to their surroundings, each an expression of the land captured in the bottle that lends itself perfectly to pairings with nature's gifts of unrefined, natural salts and vygies. Craig’s art of matching Fleur du Cap wines and salt offers new ways of unlocking the expression of the wine to its fullest potential. The result is an enriched wine experience which draws on the unique flavours of the salts and combines them with the simplicity of these excellently balanced wines.

The Fleur du Cap Unfiltered wines can be tasted in the Pendock Wine Gallery at Taj Cape Town from Tuesday to Saturday between 12h00 noon and 19h00 during the entire month of November.
