Klein Constantia
Klein Constantia Estate has once again been rewarded by the Platter's Wine Guide with two highly-coveted five-star wine ratings.
The estate wines singled out in the 2014 edition are the 2012 Perdeblokke Sauvignon Blanc - a Constantia white wine that perfectly expresses the unique terroir of the high altitude vineyards on the slopes of the Constantiaberg, and the 2010 Méthode Cap Classique Brut - a limited-release speciality wine demonstrating the elegance and quality of the Chardonnay grapes grown on the estate.

Managing Director Hans Astrom believes these awards reflect the efforts being made to achieve the goals set in 2011 by the estate's new owners; one being to create a distinctly recognisable and iconic Constantia Sauvignon blanc from the vineyards affectionately named Perdeblokke by the farm workers.

Understanding that excellence takes time and effort, there has been an emphasis on investment in both the vineyards and the cellar as part of a long-term plan to improve all aspects of farming and winemaking at Klein Constantia.

Winemaker Matthew Day is particularly excited about the future of the estate and continuing the work to underpin Klein Constantia's reputation as one of the Cape's great wine estates.
