The sixth annual Helderberg Wine Festival will be happening soon and promises to be a a joyous occasion of sampling great wine, good food and celebrating the firm relationships between the festival and local charities.
This year's chosen charity is ECHO (Erinvale Care & Help Organisation) and on Saturday 16th November, there will be a 3 course dinner and charity auction in their aid at the Lord Charles hotel in Somerset West for R450 pp.

The evening is about creating a brighter future for the community in the Helderberg Basin through the generous support of those attending.

Supported by participating wineries like Blaauwklippen, Waterkloof, Somerbosch and Annandale,  the evening offers a chance to dress up to the nines to suit the “Summer Smart” theme. The ticket price of R450 includes a 3-course meal, live music, a charity auction and a one-day ticket to the festival on Sunday with all profits raised going towards the many educational and upliftment projects run by this enthusiastic local NPO.

Amorim Cork’s Corklife Project , which aims to train unemployed people in creating crafts from used corks, is once again benefitting from the corks collected by the participating wineries.  Corklife produced the table centre pieces at the ECHO event which is one of their first official projects and creates a great link between the two charities. The public is also invited to bring along their old corks to add to the collection bins at all participating wine farms.

Wine.co.za was fortunate enough to be invited to sample the menu for the night which was was created by Jean-Pierre and is very different in nature from last year with the emphasis on creating good food but not to the detriment of the Charity's budget.
