Oak Valley recently confirmed a 5 year partnership with the FNB Wines2Whales (W2W) Mountain Bike Events following the successful staging of the event in November 2012.

FNB W2W incorporates into its race theme the spectacular scenery of the Cape Winelands on a stunning route through vineyards that ends at Onrus (just outside of Hermanus), the world’s premier whale watching destination.

The 2013 event take place from 1st to 10th November 2013, and incorporates 3 races, FNB W2W Adventure (1st-3rd Nov), FNB W2W Ride (4th-6th Nov) and FNB W2W Race (8th-10th Nov).

Oak Valley’s partnership with FNB W2W will continue until after the 2017 race when there will be an option to renew the relationship.

Oak Valley has many years’ experience hosting multi-stage events, having played host to the world renowned Absa Cape Epic for 5 consecutive years since 2008.

Oak Valley will soon be extending its beautifully maintained trails, many of which are single track, to two neighbouring farms, Glen Elgin and Eikenhof, which will give greater diversity and enjoyment to their bikers. In total the trails will then be extended to cover almost 60kms overall.

The new trails will start from the Oak Valley entrance gate and will also finish at the entrance to the farm. Oak Valley has also undertaken to maintain these trails going forward.

The new trails will be incorporated into the FNB W2W routes this November and will no doubt add to the already brilliant riding experience. Oak Valley winemaker and creator of the trails, Pieter Visser, will be cycling the FNB W2W Adventure.

Oak Valley Wines will be available at the Race Village throughout the 10-day event. The Pool Room Restaurant on Oak Valley will be open for biker’s breakfasts on Sat-Sun, lunch Tue-Sun and dinner Fri-Sat. Wine tasting is open 7 days-a-week.

Oak Valley is looking forward to the challenge of assisting The FNB Wines2Whales organisers to cement their race as one of the leading MTB events in South Africa.
