Lanzerac
Each year winemakers and wine
enthusiasts eagerly await the results of South Africa’s most prestigious
competition for market ready wines and brandies. The aim of the competition
honours the country’s best of the best with double gold, gold, silver and
bronze medals – accolades which will soon appear on the winning bottles as the
well-known and highly valued Veritas symbol of excellence. This year 1 792 wines
and brandies vied for the prestigious double gold Veritas medal.
Winemaker
Wynand Lategan, describes the Cabernet Sauvignon as displaying inviting
flavours of blackberry and youngberry with hints of cocoa, almond and cedar. A
beautiful full-bodied wine with excellent balance on the palate and a lingering
aftertaste. Enjoy now, but will best left to mature for another five to eight
years. The perfect wine to serve with roast beef, grilled lamb chops, ostrich,
casseroled poultry, tuna or pasta. Available from select retail outlets
nationwide at R115 per bottle.
