De Wetshof Estate
If Spring is in the air, it is time for the annual riverside wine festival in the beautiful Robertson Wine Valley. Now in its eighth year, the Robertson Wine on the River will take place 18 - 20 October 2013 on the banks of the Breede River at the Goudmyn Farm between Robertson and Bonnievale.
De Wetshof Estate will be one of the myriad wine farms presenting its wines for tasting and sale, with the well-known range of Chardonnays expected to attract the usual amount of attention. With both unwooded (Bon Vallon and Limestone Hill) as well as the wooded Finesse, The Site and Bateleur on offer, Chardonnay lovers can expect to experience the stunning diversity of site-specific wines each expressing a unique character as a result of their respect soil and climatic origins.

Sparkling wines on offer include the Brut and Brut Rosé Cap Classiques, relative newcomers to the De Wetshof portfolio but with the refined elegance which can only complement a Spring afternoon.

Peter de Wet from De Wetshof has been attracting a lot of attention recently with the maiden launch of his Thibault red wine which comprises Merlot with a splash of Cabernet Sauvignon. Named after the famous architect who designed various of the early Cape’s well-known buildings, including the Koopmans-De Wet House on which De Wetshof’s main-building is based, the Thibault represents Peter de Wet’s passion for red wine which he obtained working the vineyards of Bordeaux and California.

On a lighter note, the popular, easy-drinking Limelight Chardonnay Pinot Noir will be available for fashionable refreshment throughout the day.

Other De Wetshof wines on offer include the Nature in Concert Pinot Noir, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc. We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful valley!
