Joachim’s favourite South African wines come from the Swartland – he loves syrah and viognier from the cooler areas - but he is also a big pinotage fan! The authenticity of South African wines appeals greatly to him. Asked about the future of South African wines in Belgium he is very positive as consumers have an increasing interest and knowledge of our wines. Being a big Swartland fan he would like to go back and learn more about the region and it’s people on his next trip, but he would also like to discover lesser-known regions for him such as Tulbagh and Robertson.
