Although the awards focus mostly on
South African entries, submissions were received from other parts of the world
as well, with 29 brandies evaluated by the panel this year.
Both the 15 Year Old and the 12
Year Old brandies also won gold outstanding medals at the International Wine
& Spirit Competition (IWSC) in London earlier this year. To win IWSC gold,
a contender must earn a score of at least 90. Those judged exceptional are
honoured with gold outstanding medals.
