WINERY NEWS MEET AN “IDOL” THIS WEEK AT AVONTUUR Winner of the second SA Idols competition, Anke Pietrangeli is performing at Avontuur on Friday from 16h30-20h00 as we continue our series of monthly free Friday afternoon music shows on the terrace in front of the tasting room. As usual our wine is available for sale from the tasting room and the restaurant’s terrace menu with a small selection of filling snacks will be on offer. Last orders for food at 19h00, but the restaurant is open thereafter for dinner. With the popularity of the events growing monthly, we expect this one to be a bumper success, so if you want to ensure a spot, make sure you get there early! CAB QUARTET FOR TUTORED TASTING EVENING With the king of grapes, Cabernet Sauvignon arguably one of the best varietals for the Helderberg sub-region within which Avontuur proudly lies, winemaker Jan van Rooyen thought it a good idea to present four Cab interpretations for this month’s formal tutored tasting evening on Thursday, 12 September in the restaurant next to the tasting room. On arrival enjoy a glass of bubbly, then dive straight into our Cabernet/Shiraz blend, followed by the award-winning Cab Franc, 100% Cab Sauv and our flagship red blend Baccarat.
