You are invited to our monthly Wine Enthusiast Workshop, where you ‘sip, learn and enjoy’ an informative evening with Cape Wine Master and winemaker of Maison de Teijger, Charl van Teijlingen. Charl’s knowledge and love for wine makes him the perfect choice as presenter. 

This month the workshop will be about “PINOTAGE”. It’s South Africa's signature variety. It was bred there in 1925 as a cross between Pinot noir and Cinsaut.

The wine of the month for August is our newly released Merlot 2012. 

Medium-bodied and fruity with a soft and elegant palate. Ruby in colour with black currant and hints of mint and eucalyptus on the nose and notes of vanilla from the French oak. 

FOOD PAIRING: Duck, pasta, veal, lamb, tuna, Italian sausage, bobotie, Coq au vin & Tomato tart.

Chocolate Truffles (makes 10) 
  
Ingredients
• 100g Dark / milk or white chocolate
• 50ml cream
• Cocoa powder

Flavour options: • 30 g chopped nuts
• 30g chopped maraschino cherries
• 10ml brandy / port
      
Instructions:
1. Melt chocolate over double boiler or defrost setting in microwave for 20 seconds at a time Place in fridge overnight (or until set). .
