wine.co.za hosted its first (but not last) Women in Wine brunch at Sage restaurant - situated in the almost magical home of Chabivin MC.
The bubbly-filled event, called forth some of South Africa's busiest and most passionate women who operate in the wine industry above and below the radar.
With bubbly in hand, our news editor, Shante, got to interview these chosen individuals getting an in-depth look at what drives them, how they started out, and where they want to see SA grow.

Meet, in brief, our heroes.

Tanja Beutler
Owner of Topaz wines, Hidden Gems and founder of the Garagiste Movement, she is a seriously fearless individual.

Corina du Toit
She's a woman of many faces having worked at wine estates, made wine herself, and now bringing together other women in the industry as the administrator of the Women-in-Wine Exchange.

Marilyn Cooper
CEO of the Cape Wine Academy and a force to be reckoned with.

Sophia Warner
A teacher, a leader and a general inspiration to many. Sophia is the founder of The Pebbles Project.

Wendy Appelbaum
Business woman, philanthropist and owner of De Morgenzon, Wendy sports a wicked sense of humour too.

Mary-lou Nash
Originally from the U.S.A., she fell in love with SA wines and is now the owner of Black Pearl wines in Paarl.

Cobie van Oort

Head of CVO Marketing, a wine estate consultant and tour guide.
