Judging of the entered brandies takes place on 13 September while the magnitude of wines will be tasted from 16 to 20 September. Judging is two weeks later this year and that should benefit wineries and distilleries to get their products ready because entry dates are also two weeks later. Being awarded a Veritas double gold is a coveted feather in the cap of local wine makers and brandy masters. This authoritative competition has earned the respect of wine aficionados the world over due to its stringent blind judging procedures. Every year some 1 700 market-ready wines and brandies put their best foot forward in the hope of earning the sought-after Veritas symbol of quality.
