Cellar Rats Spring Wine Festival The Old Mill, Magaliesberg Sunday 1st September – 11h00 To 15h00 A wine festival with a difference. Now in its 13th year this festival attracts in excess of 2500 people.
The Spring Wine Festival, will be held on Sunday 1st September, in aid of the Woodland School in Magaliesberg.

Our emphasis is on tasting South Africa's best wines in a tranquil outdoor setting. To this end, more than 100 producers will present in excess of 600 products for the adult tasters’ enjoyment. This is a family festival, with supervised entertainment for children whilst the parents relax and enjoy the wines in the countryside.

We rely primarily on word-of-mouth to advertise this event, so we would greatly appreciate it if you could find a spot to give us a mention in your publication. Pictures available on request.

It is a relaxing, fun family day and great value with over 600 products available for tasting (designated drivers get in free).

About This Event
In 2001, Woodland School in Magaliesberg approached Cellar Rats Wine Tasting Club to assist them with an annual fund raising event, and the Cellar Rats Spring Wine Festival was born.

Since then the Cellar Rats Spring Wine Festival has become a major draw card for weekend-tourism to the Magaliesberg area. Drawing 2000+ visitors & participants, mostly from Johannesburg and the surrounds -  but some from as far as Botswana & Cape Town - the family festival seeks to promote an ethos of "good living".

This family festival is held at the historic “Old Mill", on the banks of the picturesque Magalies River, approx. 35 minutes from Jhb's Northern Suburbs.  The atmosphere is relaxed and convivial, and visitors are encouraged to stretch out and enjoy the lush green lawns, shady trees and cool spring breeze, whilst enjoying some of the finest wines South Africa has to offer.

Our emphasis is on tasting South Africa's best wines in a tranquil outdoor setting. To this end, more than 100 wine producers will present in excess of 600 wines for your enjoyment.
