Top 100 SA Wines
Savage Wines recently released its inaugural vintages of red and white wines to a stellar response.  Both of these wines have received critical acclaim from a collection of some the finest objective international tasters.  Both wines have been selling extremely quickly with little stock now remaining. Duncan Savage has built an enviable reputation as Cape Point Vineyards wine maker.  He is recognised for consistently making some of SA’s finest Sauvignon Blancs and white Bordeaux styled blends.  Developing his own brand is a logical next step.  Savage Wines are bottled and on the market.

Smaller wineries are not easily or efficiently able to cope with the myriad of non-core functions and tasks that are required of any business.  Valuable time is scarce, best spent concentrating on key aspects of a business rather than on burdensome administrative matters.  With this in mind, Savage Wines have outsourced the invoicing and debtor function of the new brand to Weekend Wines cc.

Weekend Wines cc is a high growth independent wine merchant.  It has an extensive range of international wines housed in SA and abroad.  These are also offered to a growing national database of fine wine lovers in SA.  The service will shortly be expanded to include offering a limited range of fine South African wines too.  The new Weekend Wines website will be launched shortly.

The business is now developing a focused range of specialist winery services, to be housed in a new company shortly.  These will better enable vineyards to concentrate on key areas that will aid their business performance and financial management.   Based on Weekend Wines owner’s global financial experience, these high quality services will be offered to vineyards at competitive prices, thus freeing up valuable  resource and aiding their business efficiency.

Duncan Savage commented:  ‘We looked at who the players were and felt that the upmarket and professional image that Weekend Wines presents, is aligned to our own brand and objectives.  We are thrilled with the function provided.  We now spend no time bothering with and worrying about this level of admin detail.  It’s in good hands and we can concentrate on quality and expansion.’

Robin von Holdt added: ‘Working with Savage Wines is a positive start to our outsourcing initiative.  Duncan makes great wines and anything that we can do to allow him and his team to build on this initial success, is a contribution that makes us very happy indeed.  Our expertise is there to assist wineries to compete effectively, manage their finances and grow their businesses.’

To mark this first outsource initiative, Weekend Wines will make its first offer of South African wine this week.
