Lomond
Lomond’s 2011 Cat’s Tail Syrah has been awarded a gold medal at the 2013 Decanter World Wine Awards in London.
The annual competition is well known for its rigorous judging. This year, 219 judges from around the world evaluated 14 362 wines from 52 countries with just 229 gold medals awarded.

“We are so proud of the international acknowledgement for this fragrant and generously flavoured red of ours,” says Lomond winemaker Kobus Gerber. “Succulent with ripe berry and plum flavours and notes of pepper and spice, this wine is a great accompaniment to grilled steaks, slow-cooked oxtail, hearty casseroles as well as dishes with a bit of bite or spice.

“Just a few weeks ago, the 2012 vintage of our Sauvignon blanc was awarded a gold medal at the 2013 Concours Mondial du Sauvignon in France. It’s fresh and medium-bodied and brimming with green and tropical fruit flavours,” Gerber said.
