Grande Provence
Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate, Franschhoek, invites guests to spoil and celebrate their Moms for lunch on Mother’s Day on 12 May and their Dads on Father’s Day on 16 June at The Restaurant for a memorable culinary experience.
Executive Chef Darren Badenhorst will serve a signature 3 course A la Carte lunch that also includes an amuse bouche, palate cleanser and a pre-dessert, which the Chef will marry with your selection of the various culinary choices. On 12 May all Mothers will be treated with a decadent box of chocolates to sweeten their day and on 16 June, Fathers will receive a miniature bottle of buchu whiskey. Cost - R320.00 per person with ‘bubbly’ on arrival. Guests may come and dine from 12h00 until 14h30.

From May to November, The Tasting Room will present a different cultivar each month so guests are able to experience and learn more about each exquisite wine. Cultivars for each month are as follows: May - Shiraz, June - Cabernet Sauvignon, July - The Grande Provence: a Bordeaux-style blend, August - Pinot Noir, September - Chardonnay, October - Sauvignon Blanc and November - Viognier/Chenin.

Another exciting and new, winter experience that guests can expect to find irresistible are the culinary curry evenings at The Restaurant, which will take place every Tuesday from May at just R250.00 per person from 19h00. A tantalising 2 course menu, including mains and dessert, will be created by Durban born Executive Chef, Darren Badenhorst.

Comments Darren, “It’s our way of bringing the finest Durban style curries to the Cape during the winter months, all of which are classic favourites and paired beautifully with the Grande Provence wines. Meat, chicken and fish curries will be presented using a combination of fine Durban spices, hand selected="true"="true" from the spice market, and traditional cooking methods will be used with a fine dining twist. Adding to this, for authenticity, a full spread of accompaniments are included along with an amuse bouche.”
