Fingertip alcohol scanner launches

The world’s first system to test alcohol levels at the touch of a finger is being launched by AlcoDigital today.
The AlcoSense TruTouch, which is being launched at the Commercial Vehicle show in Birmingham, can determine a person’s level of intoxication in seconds with just a touch of a finger.

The technology has been shown to be 96% accurate. 

The scanner uses a near-infrared light to measure blood alcohol content in the skin via contact with an optical pad. The light reflected back by the skin is then analysed to determine alcohol concentration in the tissue...Read on
