While the vast majority of wines in the world are made to be enjoyed young, some are intended to be age-worthy but unfortunately get consumed years before they reach their peak. Such wines would benefit immensely from some patience before the cork is pulled. Similarly, to get the full benefit of a value-based philosophy - proven to produce the best real returns over time with protection against capital loss - patience is demanded. With this in mind, the idea of commemorating RE:CM's 10th anniversary by celebrating the best 10 year old red wines was born.
The judging panel will be chaired by Christian Eedes, respected wine writer and critic, and includes two further judges, namely Jörg Pfützner, internationally trained and certified sommelier, and Nkulu Mkhwanazi, wine entrepreneur. The results will be announced on Thursday, 14th March 2013.
