On Sunday, 17 February 2013 at 11h00, until Wednesday, 24 April 2013, The Gallery at Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate, Franschhoek, is proud to present a solo exhibition titled ‘Citizen’, by well known Cape Town based artist, Arlene Amaler –Raviv.
Guests also have the pleasure of viewing a group show titled 'Love Planet', in the Project Room, featuring work by Koos De Wet, Donna McKellar, David Brits, Frans Smit, among others, with ceramic sculptures by Gráinne McHugh.

A new concept to launch in 2013 is the first 'Gallery Dinner', which will be held on Saturday, 16 February, the eve of this exhibition, at 19h00 with the artist in attendance, Arlene Amaler-Raviv. This concept offers art enthusiasts a one on one opportunity to learn more about the artist and her vision. Enjoy a 3 course meal created by Executive Chef, Darren Badenhorst, at R370.00 per person, which includes a glass of award-winning Grande Provence wine.

Cape Town artist, Arlene Amaler – Raviv's collection of works for the exhibition 'Citizen' span over three decades, across continents and cities and often over murky and dangerous political and social borders. Her artworks challenge us as citizens to question everything and take responsibility for our actions. This body of work offers powerful social commentary, confirmed and often enhanced by her masterful manipulation of medium, colour, and imagery.

'Love Planet' is a collection of artworks that intrigue the viewer at first glance with colour, exuberance and charm, similar to the expression 'love at first sight' but reveal upon closer investigation a deeper, more meaningful internal conversation. The ceramic artist, Gráinne Mchugh, often captures the indifference of dark emotion, hidden by a cheerful exterior with her sculptures.
