The Veritas Awards, South Africa’s most prestigious wine competition since 1991, has honoured Beyerskloof this year in a remarkable way. Our Diesel Pinotage 2022 has received the esteemed Double Gold, while the Eerste Ry Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 proudly earned Gold.

Replanting our vineyards
As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality and sustainability of our wines, Beyerskloof recently completed the replanting of 5 hectares of vineyard blocks across our various farms.
Sustainable farming and precision techniques
We used precision farming methods based on detailed soil analyses, ensuring that each varietal was perfectly matched to its environment. A herringbone drainage system was installed to prevent waterlogging and optimize vine health. With drip irrigation as a supplementary water source, these new vineyards are set to be managed in a way that minimizes their environmental impact.
Looking ahead to ensure future excellence
The replanting is expected to bring exciting changes to our wines. The younger vines will offer fresher aromas and vibrant flavours, boosting the quality of our popular Cape Blend wines. Additionally, the new Pinotage clone could set a new benchmark for quality, with the potential to further enhance Beyerskloof’s reputation for exceptional Pinotage.
