Are you a newbie to wine? Or just want to up your wine cred? wine.co.za's new Learn space is a good start, and will be expanding its content over the next few months

We are pleased to present our new learn.wine.co.za environment, kicking off with Chenin content and videos, with the intention of expanding to include the major varieties and more.

'A chance upon the beautiful Kunye thewinewise ebook produced by South African born Cassidy Dart MW and graphic designer and wine-lover @capeofgoodwine really hit the mark, and we are delighted to be collaborating with them to bring you information about the major wine varieties in South Africa in a beautiful, accessible way.  We are starting with Chenin as it is #drinkcheninday on Friday 18th June so the timing made absolute sense'  says Judy Brower, co-owner of wine.co.za. 'A unique feature of  the Kunye The Wine Wise ebook is that it has been translated into isiXhosa!'

'I am also grateful to Roxan Waldeck, certified SASA Sommelier, and Khayelitsha activist, event organiser, musician and community builder, Siyabonga Mbaba, for working so passionately with us to create a set of videos which introduces Chenin in a simplistic way.  Wine has long been too intimidating and we hope that our Learn Variety Series of videos will help to demystify wine.'

Cassidy Dart MW: 'We wanted to create Kunye The Wine Wise as a free resource for anyone with a fledgling interest in wine to make wine fun, accessible and inclusive. That is why we are so proud of the Xhosa rendition, the first time ever in South Africa's vinous history. We were delighted when wine.co.za first approached us about a collaboration; their website has been a resource to us for many years - whether it be catching up on new releases, or browsing the classifieds whilst daydreaming about life in the wine industry. Seeing how wine.co.za have adapted our book into accessible learning pages has put a smile on our faces, as we're now able to share the wine knowledge with a far wider audience."

We are keen to work closely with training organisations and Cape Wine Academy have also committed to using our material.

CWA CEO Heidi Duminy: "What a fresh take and perspective on learning - complete with a great selection of styles of wine to experience. This is so easy to understand and relate to. There's never enough to know about wine and we can't wait to share the learn.wine.co.za material with our students and curious wine lovers. Keep it coming wine.co.za

Our plans are to work through the major varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinotage & Shiraz, and Sauvignon Blanc & Chardonnay and before we tackle the others.

The information dovetails beautifully with the curated Variety Taste Packs  in the wine.co.za shop, making it really easy to explore to stock up and have the pack delivered anywhere in South Africa (and best thing is that delivery is free!). For any wine-tasting clubs or groups out there, it is really simple, and all wine tasting notes are available online, include a video on each wine, presented by one of our partner sommeliers.

Our Taste of Chenin Pack consists of 6 wonderful wines, so do watch as they are presented by Roxan:
