Franschhoek Wine Valley
Franschhoek local, Ruth McCourt has taken over the reins of Franschhoek Wine Valley Tourism, one of South Africa’s leading tourism destinations as the Marketing Manager and custodian of Franschhoek Wine Valley as of 1 March 2021.

“Ruth served as a member of the Franschhoek Wine Valley team in various capacities from 2010 to 2014. Her energy, enthusiasm and understanding of tourism combined with a deep knowledge of the Franschhoek Wine Valley and many of its members qualifies her well for this role,” says Franschhoek Wine Valley Tourism Chairperson, Hein Koegelenberg.

Ruth and her husband Frank have been residents of Franschhoek for more than 18 years. Prior to moving to Franschhoek they owned and operated a five-star safari lodge in Zimbabwe before purchasing and building up Rusthof Country House, now Leeu House in the heart of Franschhoek village.

Together with her hands-on team, Ruth will continue to focus on marketing Brand Franschhoek both locally in the current climate, as well as internationally in preparation for when the world can travel again.  It is also very important to Ruth to support all the Franschhoek Wine Valley members in whichever way possible, creating new marketing possibilities and platforms and bringing feat to Franschhoek during the current economic environment.
