Winetech
Winetech (Wine Industry Network of Expertise and Technology) has been the South African Wine industry’s research partner since 1999. Our main objective is to identify, prioritise, coordinate and fund relevant solution-driven research, development and innovation projects or initiatives that will directly contribute to strengthening the profitability and competitiveness of the industry.

Winetech endeavours to help create a wine industry that recognises and uses science and technology as foundation stones for its success. The Learning and Development (L&D) platform for the wine industry has also been incorporated into Winetech. The vision is to leverage L&D as a catalyst for the advancement of people by building their capabilities for optimum performance, innovation and the achievement of business goals.

The past few years have seen several changes and new developments at Winetech, more specifically an increased focus on flagship research projects, broader knowledge transfer engagement with the SA Wine Industry, enhanced focus on innovation and the development of an operational system that is optimized for the changing environment. Just like the neural network in the brain, connections communicate change. Change in the way we operate, interact, transform and envision the future. Without connections, innovative solutions are impossible.

As Winetech transition into the new decade, there will be continuous evolution, but it will be grounded in our values and company culture. Winetech will communicate on all the exciting changes that are taking place in our environment and how it will benefit the SA Wine Industry throughout 2020, so watch the space.
