In this week's Out and About we feature our own Yoliswa at the Robertson Wacky Wine Weekend, our editor's adventure on the Franschhoek Wine Tram and outings to both Waterford and Steenberg!

Yoli, ready for the Robertson Wacky Wine Weekend

Yoliswa's first Wacky Wine Weekend in Robertson went off with a bang! Ready with her basket of goodies, from gumboots to a knitted glass holder, I've never seen her so excited. Here's what she had to say about the experience:

"Despite the muddy and windy weather, fun was had and new friendships were made through the sharing of wine. I still can't get over the incredible view from the Bushmanspad Cottages, looking over Langeberg Mountains, with blazing fireplaces to keep us warm."

Franschhoek Wine Tram

In only my third week at wine.co.za I'd been treated to a curated experience by the Franschhoek Wine Tram. We visited three farms, Rickety Bridge, Grande Provence and La Bri. Even if you've been on the tram before, the curated experience is the way to go. I enjoyed this experience with my girlfriend, along with two other couples, an American and Brit on honeymoon and two travel bloggers from Peru.

Waterford

Waterford is a farm well known for it's exceptional chocolate pairings. Whenever we receive an invite the office amounts to a scrum. Here's Sheryl's take:

"Once you visit Waterford Estate your mind starts planning the next visit including extended family and friends. My first experience at Waterford left such an impression, not just for the sheer pretty factor, but because of the welcoming aspect of the place. One of the tables close to where we were seated, sat a mother and son playing cards, it was Friday afternoon and an inspiring way to end the week."

Steenberg

Steenberg produces one of the best MCC's I've ever tasted. I'm thoroughly jealous of Sheryl, here's what she had to say on the matter:

"When I think of Steenberg I automatically exhale. The picture that comes to mind is one of me staring out onto the Steenberg Mountain with a glass of their Brut 1682 Chardonnay NV in hand. You can choose where you would like to be seated whilst you enjoy your tipple. Their wine tasting offers guests a selection of wine tasting experiences, with a Wine Tasting Bar, Tasting Lounge and Outdoor Terrace to choose from. Steenberg boasts the title of being the oldest registered farm in the Cape, established in 1682."
