Martin headed up the team at Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate before joining online giant Vinous as Senior Editor in 2017 where he continuous to be one of the world’s foremost authorities on wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy, South Africa and New Zealand, releasing an annual report on these regions. It comes as no surprise that Eikendal’s reputation as the House of Chardonnay gained momentum with the yet-to-be-released Infused by Earth Chardonnay 2016 scoring 92, followed by the new Elgin Chardonnay, Mon Désir 2017 with 91 and 90 for the Chardonnay 2016. The Infused by Earth Cabernet Franc 2015 brought a 90 for Grobler’s latest red wine offering.
“I am absolutely ecstatic,” said Grobler. “The fact that our wines are yet again catching the attention of international wine writers shows us that we are on the right track. It is an exciting time for us, releasing new wines and new vintages that show what Eikendal has to offer.”
Eikendal, conveniently situated between Stellenbosch and Somerset West on the R44, is renowned for its internationally acclaimed wines.
