Winetech, Santi Basson
The Winetech study groups make a considerable contribution in transferring knowledge and technology to cellar assistants. Three Afrikaans and Xhosa study groups are presented in participating regions at central venues.

The aim of the Winetech study groups is not only to transfer knowledge, but also to increase and stimulate productivity in a practical and holistic manner.

The subjects discussed in the study groups differ from year to year and during 2018 the focus is on cellar hygiene; stabilisation of wine and bottling procedures. The facilitators Nomonde Kubheka and Charl Theron present the study groups in the different regions.

Participation is free of charge and semi-literate cellar assistants are welcome to attend as well.

The stabilisation of wines was discussed during the second series of the Winetech study groups in the participation regions.

Aspects such as what is wine stability; why is this important to the consumer; the different wine stabilities and the different stabilisation methods and equipment were discussed.

Bottling will be discussed during the third and last study groups.
