This first boutique show takes place at Montecasino in Gauteng - the first of many public tastings planned! Similar events are in the pipeline for later in the year in other parts of South Africa as well as other SADEC countries, mainly due to the demand from wine and spirits lovers to experience the diverse product ranges from South Africa’s foremost wineries and distilleries.
The two day event, held in three sessions of informative and delicious liqueur-, craft gin-, brandy- and wine-tastings and individual presentations, is expected to attract drinks lovers who now have the chance to taste exceptional wines and spirits judged by a panel comprising mainly of international wine experts and underscored by the Michelangelo stamp of excellence.
With Tsogo Sun being a headline sponsor of the competition, we are exceptionally privileged to be able to host the first ever Michelangelo International Wine & Spirits Awards Winners Show at this hospitality group’s popular and classy Montecasino location. And of course, members of the Michelangelo team of organisers will be there and it will be great to meet you.
Friday the 6th of April sees one tasting session being held from 17:00 to 22:00, with two sessions on Saturday 7 April at 13:00 and 18:00 respectively. Bookings can be made at Computicket.
But it is not just the public who are in for a treat. A public tasting will not be a public tasting without our producers travelling from all over the country to present their wares. So, to offer these producers a bit of deserved added value, two of those exhibiting at the Michelangelo Public Tasting stand the chance to win a welcome and all-expenses paid holiday in Namibia.
During the show two lucky producers will be drawn as winners of this prize. One winner gets to visit the Erindi Game Reserve which entails three nights’ consecutive accommodation for two persons, return flights from Cape Town and three days car rental. The other winner jets off to Gondwana Etosha Safari Lodge/Camp. Same deal: two person accommodation for three nights. Car hire. Return flights from Cape Town.
This truly represents a new era for Michelangelo. Through the public tastings consumers will get to know the producers and the high standard of quality Michelangelo represents.
